the “more…” quicktag

I’m using the “more…” quicktag in my posts, and on some posts it works, on others it doesn’t. I’ve looked between the different posts, and can’t see that my application of the tag is any different from one post to the other. However, the posts where it works are on the “news” page, and the posts where the quicktag does not work are on the “jobs” page.

I don’t see anything in my page.php file or index.php file that would account for this. What should I be looking for?
