The Maxmind GeoLiteCity database can not be installed.

Hi, please click on the following URL Visitor Maps Geolocation Addon. This will allow you to download and install the addon.

Also make sure you are login in as an administrator.

I am having the same problem, along with some other weird behavior. The problem is not with installing the Visitor Maps Geolocation Addon. That seems to work fine. The problem is that when you go back the Visitor Maps settings after installing the geolocation addon, you get the message “The Maxmind GeoLiteCity database is not yet installed. Install Now” When you click on Install Now, it takes you to a new page that says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” as jofas said. This happens whether or not “Enable Geolocation” is checked.

Also, the “Enable Geolocation” checkbox resets to empty every time I try to install the Maxmind database, and even if I check “Enable Geolocation” and update the settings, when I click on the visitor map viewer link in the Settings page, a popup opens up that says Geolocation is not enabled. Any suggestions?

I’m getting the “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” message but I’m using the admin account.

I have this solved myself.

It turned out that although I have installed the location map data through plugin installation, when I went to the server to check it, the folder was created but nothing was there. I don’t remember where but I found a link on here explaining how to install it manually. Basically you just need to jump on your server and copy those data to a specific folder, which I did. Then I came back to press that button again, everything went smoothly.

Added “plugin” to the beginning but still getting the same error!

I am battling so much to activate this visitors who’s online and all its add on… is there anyone that can help me by doing the installation…. It use to be so easy.. why is all the add on not available in the normal WordPress plugin installation place???

I’m just a regular user so I can’t offer much help but have you loaded both plugins?
