Have you made any changes to the website recently? This could be adding or removing plugins or custom code, updating the theme or plugins, etc.

The reason I’m asking is because it is not possible to sort orders by status by default on WooCommerce. It is only possible to sort them by Order number, Date, or Total. So there must be something interfering with this on your website.

The issue is probably caused by a plugin or your theme, and to figure out, a conflict test would be the way to go. But before running a conflict test, can you please share the System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support?
This way we can take a look and see if we can find a plugin that is most likely doing this to make the conflict test easier.

I see your database is outdated. This can cause a lot of issues on the website.

Please update it by either following the warning message a the top of the page on WooCommerce area of the dashboard or going to WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Update Database.

Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

If that does not solve the issue, I recommend running a full conflict test.

To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront, then check to see if the issue is still present. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you.

If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

— Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database.

— Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

— It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

I’m getting an alert for the update but when I check the details it shows that it’s the latest version.
I’ve tried updating again just to be sure, but the display is still the same.

Thank you for your reply.

That is an admin notice for updating WooCommerce to the latest version.
Which at the time of writing this message is 9.0.2.

If you are already updated to the version 9.0.2.
Then I suggest clearing this notice manually by following the steps outlined in this link.

Normally admin notices should go away once you perform the required action.
If you face this issue again in the future, let me know so I can look into your site and find out why is this happening.

I am glad to know that you fixed the admin notice issue.

After reviewing the screenshot of Orders page you shared, I noticed several differences in the interface.
Like in the sidebar, Home and Orders are home and order.
The page title is also order instead of Orders.
Some other differences are highlighted in the screenshot below:

Could you confirm if you use any custom code or plugin that might have modified the default WooCommerce functionality?
