• I have a question about using WordPress for e-commerce. For example these 3 webshops built on a platform different from WordPress:

    Horloges.nl
    Sieraden.com
    Zonnebrillen.net

Could these 3 webshops run succesfuly on a WordPress multisite e-commerce installation with a database of between 15.000 and 30.000 products? Or is it better to use Magento Commerce for example?

  • WordPress will work for that, but with a catalogue of that many items I’d really recommend looking at Magento, or another dedicated E-Commerce system. Magento and others and designed from the ground up to support this sort of thing, where as with WordPress it’s an add-on that came later from a third-party developer. Basically, you should use the right tool for the right job. In this case, WordPress is most likely not the right tool.
