  • First of all, does your page load? If it loads, where exactly are you facing a problem because of these missing strings? I’m sure at least https:// is there, but you probably don’t see it because the browser hides it.

    If you have configured SSL properly, then https will surely comes!
    and then you need to redirect in htaccess for www!

    However, provide me your website url, I would like to check it

    Thanks @paddor82,

    I don’t know why the problem is coming.

    But I suspect, that, it may be due to lack of SSL Ceritificate which google chrome is looking for.

    My url is https://www.uxbridgehanwell.net

    What’s the URL you’ve entered in the WordPress Settings – General – WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL)?

    @bs161
    If you want to have https:// of course you need valid SSL certificate…

    @sinip
    Is it necessary to have https:// with the address name?

    Why does google chrome warn the users that the site is not secure?

    Thanks

    Hi @paddor82,

    You nailed it. I have been able to add the letters www to my url.

    Now need more information to add Https://

    Having SSL is not necesary, however, it has certain benefits.
    Google considers SSL as one of ranking signals. Website that have SSL will rank better.
    Chrome also tries to “persuade” website owners (with that message about site not being secure) to install SSL because it makes web more secure. The fact is that if website doesn’t use SSL then traffic between an end user’s computer and a website can be listened to by some skilled hackers or NSA, CIA, KGB, MI6 and such… ??

    @bs161 glad it helped. Now regarding SSL (https in the URL) we’re leaving the responsibility of WordPress. But just quickly to point you into the right direction: Did you activate SSL on your hosting provider? If not, get in touch with them to request a (free or paid) SSL certificate for your webspace. Then add the https:// to the general settings in WordPress. Furthermore, you will probably need to create a redirection from https:// to https:// via a .htaccess file on your websites root directory. Please Google it for more information.

    @paddor82 and @sinip, you guys are awesome. Thanks for the help. I am done. Now, WWW is appearing in my site url, and I have also subscribed to SSL certificate for my site https://www.uxbridgehanwell.net . Things are working perfectly fine. Thanks once again.
