After the last update v6 my events are seen with a narrow format and do not show the comments.

In addition, past events appear in the “upcoming” list

I would appreciate any help since the interaction of the users when reading and responding to the comments is essential for the functioning of the community.

    It’s all updated:
    WordPress: 6.0.2
    The Events Calendar: 6.0.1
The Events Calendar Shortcode & Block: 2.5.5
Theme Sport Center (Leaf Color): 2.5

    Greetings.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @jparra-1,

Hoping to add something useful for you here.

You definitely have some customizations to the calendar (do you have any code snippets or template overrides applied to the calendar?) and with version 6 of TEC some new rules apply:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/v1-deprecation-faqs/
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/guide/all-about-the-events-calendar-6-0/

Past events usually appear in the month view, but with “muted” styling. What view do you see the past events in?

Can you be more specific about how the events are shown in a “narrow format”?

Regarding losing the comments and seeing past events in the calendar view, I would start by testing for conflicts: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/testing-for-conflicts/

The Events Calendar Shortcode & Block is great, but not our plugin.

    Hope this helps,
    John!

Hello again and thanks for replying.

The issue with narrow styling and comments was fixed by theme support.

The problem with past events is when using the WPBakery Page Builder “Post slider” items for the homepage slider, for example.

    Before I configured:

    Post Type: Tribe Events
    Order: Ascent
    Order by: Date
    Event Display: Uncoming
    Start date: Week ago
    End date: Next Month

And it listed only the events that were to come.

Now after the update it lists the first events on the list that are from 2017.

If I set “Order: Descend” it shows me the ones to come, but starting with the farthest to come and includes the ones that have already passed.

My goal is to show the events that are to come, starting with the closest in date.

    Thanks for the help.

Hi @jparra-1, no worries, and apologies for the delay here. Good to know that WPBakery was able to fix the Narrow Styling.

Out of the box, we do not have the option to sort/order the slider on your homepage. Unfortunately, this is not possible with our plugin. However, please feel free to reach out to the WPBakery team again if they have a workaround for this.

Also about the views, it seems like it is not loading properly on your end or you have the wrong template settings. I’m curious, could you interchange the settings under Display → Default stylesheet used for events templates and Events template? See if that fixes that makes a difference.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz

    Hi Abz.
Actually, it was LeafColor, the “SportCenter” theme support that fixed the bug in the style.

The functionality that we had before with the events was two.

    1. In the slider of the home plate, the elements that were to arrive (next race in our case) were listed starting with the one that was closest.
Now, it lists the one that is furthest to the present, but it doesn’t stop and show the past ones.
With Order: “ASC” in the settings, before it worked fine for us until the update (See the image link: https://drive.google.com/uc?id=15fGJ-AIqGXrbLge9XwiQuYndfSvX3evD&authuser=jopame%40gmail.com&usp=drive_fs)

    2. We used the same configuration to, on another page of the web, show the races that are to come and part of the past races so that people could comment on them. We have eliminated this because we cannot reproduce it and now it is called “races” all together without separating past or future ones.

We do this with a “Post Slider” WPBakery item, but any other method that lists races not played or already passed separately would work for us.

Hi @jparra-1, appreciate the updates here, and good to know that the Theme Developer was able to fix the bug on the style/CSS.

I wasn’t able to replicate the issue with WPBakery and The Events Calendar activated only. I suspect there could be a conflict with other plugins here.

Could you try deactivating all other plugins except for our plugins to see if that makes a difference? Please read the Testing for Conflicts Article before doing anything. We’d recommend conducting these tests on a Staging Server.

Moreover, it would also be good to check with WPBakery Team in regard to this issue and check with them.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz

One more change and it’s made everything worse. Now the problem comes from using the date to list events, which now does not show any, neither uncoming nor past, I have to list them by ID, something that the calendar does not help me much, for that I use normal entries and also past events are not listed, as if they were not “published”.

Has something changed in the format or way of displaying the date of the events that may be preventing other plugins to read or understand it? It happens to me with several plugins, both native and third-party, with which I try to make lists of upcoming or past events, which is the functionality I use and need from The Events Calendar

    Thanks

Hi @jparra-1, sorry to hear about this, and apologies for the delay here. We released fixes regarding the events not showing properly, could you try upgrading the plugin and see if that fixes the issue?

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting these tests on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

Let me know how it goes.
