I am so pissed off!!! this was supposed to need nothing from my side and all of the sudden changes take effect today and my website which is running in Renden Theme no longer has the footer with the widgets and I cannot access the widgets anymore. This is having a MAJOR impact in my site. Anybody else expeirencing this or telling me how to work it out?

So sorry you’re having trouble with your site today. I’m pretty sure there was no update to WP core files recently, but maybe one of your plugins or the theme did. Can you post a link to your site?

EDIT: Sorry, maybe you meant that you updated WP?

Please don’t post multiple threads about the same issue. We all know how frustrating sudden problems can be, but there are limited numbers of volunteers here at any one time, and you have made it more difficult for us to help you. Patience please.

Thanks but I did nothing, according to an update in wordpress core files this was supposed to be migrating the Theme Options into the Customizer…the result…the footer is gone. This was supposed to need nothing from my side because WordPress took care of everthing and the change was taking place in October First…this is the result…not footer.

    https://www.teamguerreras.com/ is my website

    Thanks

By the way the post about four months ago is not related to this and that issue was solved (not my worpress support though).

the change was taking place in October First

The WP 4.3.1 update was released September 15th and was mostly security and bug fixes. You would have seen this problem before now if it was due to an auto-update of WP core, unless you have disabled auto-updates, but you said you made no manual changes.

according to an update in wordpress core files this was supposed to be migrating the Theme Options into the Customizer

The big changes to Customizer came in WP 4.3 back on August 18th.

I would try temporarily changing to a default WP theme like Twenty Fifteen to see if the footer comes back. If it does, you know it’s probably the theme and you should continue in the thread you started in the theme forum.

If not, try disabling plugins until you see some improvement. Be sure to clear your browser cache each time you make a change or else you might just see the old version.

I’m curious how you resolved the 4-month-old not-related incident of the disappearing footer?

The theme developer did the catch up with the WordPress update and this issue is now solved.
