The knight in shining armour!

  • A copy-paste developer, spent the last 24 hours finding a simple plugin to create, input, retrieve, update and search a data table. Used Joomla’s CCK offerings, made my way to wordpress and nothing. Nothing just worked out-of-the-box. Too complex or lacking the basic CRUD features.

    Finally DB Toolkit came to the rescue. Even without documentation, I got it up and running. Thank you.

    I’d hug you but my arms reach the keyboard at max.

    p.s. I’m leaving one star our ’cause i’d to edit the database table manually and change the field’s data type. It was stuck at ‘int11’ Probably something i’d missed in the settings, can’t say. But its working now!

    btw, I disabled the changing of data-types because if you where to accidentally select something like int on a system table that is a varchar, WordPress will die instantly. It was just to dangerous.

    That makes sense.
    How do you suggest we go about changing field types?

    in v0.4 (the next update) I’ll have field editor where you’ll be able to alter the fields datatype, with many warnings and confirm boxes ??
