The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site IXR -32300

    I just installed the Jetpack plugin and when i click on “Setup Jetpack” I’m getting the following error message:

    The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed cURL error 35: error:1414D172:SSL routines:tls12_check_peer_sigalg:wrong signature type]

    Using https://jptools.wordpress.com/debug/ I get this message:

    Debug
    Communication error
    We were unable to make an XML-RPC request to your website. Please make sure that XML-RPC is turned on and that Jetpack is installed, activated and connected with your WordPress.com account. If the error persists, try disconnecting and connecting Jetpack again.

    If you continue to get this error, please check out our troubleshooting guide or contact support.

    Accessing the Debug page (https://mydomain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack-debugger ) I get:

    Debugging Center
    Testing your site’s compatibility with Jetpack…
    Your Jetpack setup looks a-okay!

    Accessing https://mydomain.com/xmlrpc.php I see one single line saying:

    XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

    What could be wrong?

    And now when i click on the “Set up Jetpack” button, it just says:

    An error occurred. Please try again.

    Changing the theme to Twenty Twenty One immediately allowed me to move on with the Setup (to Jetpack’s sign-in page).
    So it seems there’s a conflict with the theme (BeTheme 25.1.4).

    I believe it’s something related to the theme and jquery. I have to investigate this further, before contacting you again. Thank you.

    Hi @nlogica –

    Let us know what you find out. It does seem that your theme is interfering in this case. You might want to contact your theme’s developers to inquire about a fix.
