You may have noticed that plugin development has been stalled for quite some time (6 months+).

The gist is the champion of this initiative at SalesForce moved on which left the plugin orphaned. With an uncertain future, I’ve tried to help as much as I can in the forums. SalesForce may re-enter the picture at some point but there’s no guarantees.

Yesterday, I decided to adopt the plugin so you’re all not left in the lurch.

This means some changes are coming (as there is no more corporate funding):

    1. This forum will be primarily for community support (user to user) and bug reports*
    2. I’ll be announcing a paid support option soon for those that need answers from me quickly
    3. I have plans to develop a pro version with some the of features that many of you want but that may not make sense for the core plugin
    4. Funding core features are now an option: if you need a feature and need it now (and want to share) you can fund development and get credit in the readme/changelog.
    5. Paid customization is also an option (e.g. you need a feature specific to your business, or can’t share the code due to IP limitations).
    6. An update will be released soon (timing TBD)

    Pull requests are always welcome:

  • The only thing I truly need right now is support for dropdowns (and maybe checklists). You’ve mentioned a “select” option but I have no idea how to enable that.

Thanks Nick! I appreciate your efforts. Are you a salesforce affiliate? I would sign-up through your link.

Yet for some reason the marketing group at Salesforce continues to promote WordPress integration, even today.

Yet for some reason the marketing group at Salesforce continues to promote WordPress integration, even today.

Is there a URL you can point me to for this?

I’m not an affiliate at present. Their bar is apparently very high, but I may give it a shot and see how it goes.

Yes, although reportedly some of the marketing group at salesforce.com is, this afternoon, removing pages/references/links to anything WP from their website. Which is somewhat surprising in that the website for https://salesforcemarketingcloud.com/ is built with WP.

Here is a still working promo link –

I think your plugin could make it possible for you to get over the bar.

How do you know all this? I’d love for someone from Salesforce to talk to me about the situation. I don’t understand why SF would leave the WP world just as it’s about to hit 20% usage on the internet and is breaking into the enterprise more and more each day. Seems like the wrong time to abandon ship ??

Please see the below email for some of “how I know this”. FWIW – My guess as to motivation is that a marketing manager perceives WP as significant competition to their site.com product. I am a little surprised that the Youtube training video is still in the SF channel.

    Hi Marc,

I have a meeting right now to get into but it looks like we have come to a resolution with the Salesforce/Wordpress log-in. This is incredibly disappointing news but that page was up unknowingly to the marketing department. They are taking it down (if not already).

You mentioned wanting to know how to set up Web to Lead (get leads from your website into Salesforce) so go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6pnIC1cY5I

I’m sorry we don’t have the wordpress plug in. That would be enormously helpful. I hope the link above, however, helps and let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
    Meredith
