• I don’t mind free versions of plugins with limited functionality – but this takes the mick.

The ‘free’ version is worthless, there is absolutely nothing of any use whatsoever in it.

It takes a load of work to set up – and you get nothing back…

I wish the authors would be honest and simply withdraw the free version instead of (apparently) hoping that having gone through the pain of configuring it you’ll pay just to get *something* for the effort you have been tricked in to making by paying for the reports.

  • Just chiming in… I think you totally have the wrong plugin based on the content in your review.

The limited functionality in this plugin is really very robust in it’s options.

The free version even if it offered 90% less than what it does would still be of value. There are plenty of plugins that offer just the Google Analytics Tracking code installation. Anything beyond that is more and this plugins offers waaaaay more than just installing your analytics code.

Actually your review sounds like the total opposite of what this plugin is, does and offers. It is just a very inaccurate review.

I’m not the author, but maybe you have the wrong plugin?

I was wondering the same thing as Noahj. This plugin offers quite a bit for free, and it’s auto-configurable which is a nice feature, and contrary to what pperrin wrote. Too bad that review is jacking up the plugin author’s overall review on this forum for people that just glance at things.

There seem to be plenty of other reviewers disappointed with the functionality of the ‘free’ version.

I got the ‘free’ version to asses the product – it let me decide that I don’t like the attitude of the company who produce it – so won’t will avoid them in future.

Now my review enables other mugs to avoid wasting their time with the useless ‘free’ version.

If (as I suggested) the useless ‘free’ version is scrapped people will not be misled – they can see that it is a pay only version and review the docs/functionality and decide if it is worth the money.

    From the description:-

The Better Google Analytics plugin allows you to easily add Google Analytics code to your website and gives you the power to track virtually everything. Better Google Analytics includes heat maps, reports, charts, events and site issue tracking in your WordPress admin area without the need to log into your Google Analytics account.

Better Google Analytics allows you to manage your Google Analytics account from within your WordPress admin area (for example you can create/edit Google Analytics Goals).

Where does it mention that it does virtually none of this in the free version?

What in this tells me that with out the pro version I will just spend a load of time setting up and get nothing useful at all?
