The Free version is Useless!

  • I created my backup. Installed this plugin on the WordPress site that I wanted to copy my website to. Then tried importing the file. Would not let me because the file was more than 2 megabytes!! Really?? 2 megabytes is hardly anything! They claim to “BYPASS ALL UPLOAD SIZE RESTRICTION. We use chunks to import your site data. Most providers set the maximum upload file size to 2MB. As the file restrictions are only applied to each chunk, webserver upload size restrictions are bypassed by keeping the chunks under 2MB to easily upload your entire site.”

    What they do not tell you is you have to upgrade to the Premium version at $69 to be able to upload anything greater than 2 mb. They do not tell you this up front because they want you to waste your time installing this plugin so that they can try to get you to pay the $69 premium price.

    My file was just under 90 meg. Every option I tried was only available in the Premium version. Kept trying to get me to pay $69 to upgrade to Premium.

    I can not believe this Plugin has received so many 5 star reviews. I deleted this plugin and installed Duplicator. I could not believe how easy it was to move my wordpress site to another server using Duplicator. The file size was a non issue. Never even had to pre-install WordPress on my new server. It was completely Free.

  • Actually, they show you how to increase upload file size from your hosting, it takes 2 minutes.
    But that only allows you to upload from your computer.
    Duplicator is just better as a free plugin.

    I use free version up to 512Mo (how : by changing php setting on my server). Upload size restriction is a hosting issue, not a plugin issue.

    It’s now $99.
