• Hi,

I’m new with this plugin, which is activated on one of my client’s website. The problem with the feed is, that it contains all pending products, so Google sees hundreds of 404 not found products in the feed.

Is there any option to exclude them? So only include actually live products in the feed? I guess this is a very basic need. Sorry, but I didn’t find any settings for this.

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. Our plugin is only putting products in feeds that are on published. This is actually the “query” that retrieves the products from your database: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2i1orfxhc5xf8sf/Screenshot%202023-04-07%20at%2008.28.45.png?dl=0

So are you sure there is not something else happening?

Thank you for your quick reply! I did some tests and research in the database.

The problem is with variable products. Even if you switch a variable main product to Pending Review, the Variations still be Published, so the post_status will be publish.

In this case the main product will not be included in the feed, but all Variations will.

So I suggest to fix the query to check the parent product’s status and if it is not publish, than exclude all product variations as well from the feed.

    Hi,

When a parent variable product is not on publish its variations are not being retrieved by the Query either and are not put in feeds by our plugin. Just to be sure we have just tested this again on one of our test websites and the variations really don’t make it to feeds when the parent variable product is not on publish.

Also, our plugin never puts parent variable products in feeds anyhow, see this post: https://adtribes.io/can-i-add-mother-products-to-my-feed-and-leave-out-the-variations/

Are you sure you are using our plugin and not one of our competitors?

Yes, I’m sure, it is your plugin. ??

I just created a new feed with the same settings and finally it doesn’t contain the variations of products, that are not published.

I tried to refresh manually the original feed, but it keeps all variations in the feed. So I guess, we will use the new feed instead of that old feed.

Maybe you can test, if a product is already in the feed and than we put in pending review the parent product, will it be removed or not from the feed?

Thank you again for your kind support!

Good to hear you were able to solve the issue by creating a new feed. Perhaps the original one is being cached and therefor contains old information?

Server side cache was purged multiple times, but it is valid for 24 hours, so it should cleared anyway in the past. The question is, why the daily or the manual refresh didn’t remove those variations after the parent product was put to Pending Review?
