The Events Calendar is slowing other pages with AJAX requests
-
Hi, we are working on a new site (I cannot share the page publicly) and we are using the events calendar free plugin. I have another plugin that loads data via AJAX that I’ve been using for many years with no issues. When I try to load the data on a page, it takes 5-12 seconds to load. When I disable the Events Calendar plugin, it loads instantly. I’ve tried everything: changing PHP version, changing themes, disabling all plugins, one by one, disabling WP Heartbeat… nothing fixes the issue. The only thing that fixes the issue is disabling the Events Calendar plugin.
I have other websites running on the same server without any issue. I am not sure what to do next. Is there a way to reduce the number of AJAX requests made by the Events Calendar? Can I disable anything else? I looked everywhere and other than moving the site somewhere else, I don’t know what to do.
I was going to upgrade the plugin, but at this point I’m not sure if that’s an option we want to pursue.
Thanks,
Mariana
