The Events Calendar plugin significantly slows down the loading time of the calendar page. While this issue doesn’t impact the performance of other pages—thanks to a plugin like Freesoul Deactivate Plugins that selectively activates the calendar plugin only on that page—the calendar still takes at least 30 seconds to fully load. Once it does, everything, including images, displays instantly and functions smoothly.

I’ve tried various troubleshooting steps, including deleting unnecessary plugins, testing for conflicts between plugins and themes, using performance-enhancing plugins, and enabling caching, but nothing seems to work. My server is excellent, and the rest of the site loads in just a few seconds. The problem remains isolated to the calendar page.

I need help improving my Google PageSpeed score, particularly with the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), which is currently taking up to 30 seconds. This is severely affecting my score.

I’ve already addressed basic optimizations like caching, so I’m looking for more advanced solutions. It seems that the issue is mainly caused by your plugin scripts on my site. Could you provide guidance on how to optimize or defer these scripts to reduce the LCP time?

    Hi @vinos21

Could you try activating only our plugins and use a default theme like WP’s 2021, and see if the loading time improves?

As always, please test it first on your staging site to avoid unnecessary downtime to your live site.

It isn’t the plugins or the theme I checked.

    There’s a specific line of code causing a 30-second Largest Contentful Paint delay, and it’s this: article.tribe-events-calendar-month-mobile-events__mobile-event > a.tribe-events-calendar-month-mobile-events__mobile-event-featured-image-wrapper > picture.tribe-events-calendar-month-mobile-events__mobile-event-featured-image > img.”

    Hi @vinos21

    Thank you for patiently waiting.

I think the one you provided is pointing to the featured image on the page. It’s taking too long to finish because you have a lot of images being loaded in the calendar.

What you could try to do is to install a?lazy-load WordPress plugin?that provides the ability to defer any offscreen images, or switch to a theme that provides that functionality. Also consider using?the AMP plugin. As always, please test it first on a staging site before applying it to your live site.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further concerns.
