• I was reading one of the new comments by email and accidentally clicked the remove this comment link; I closed the tab and then tried to go to my website to see if it had been removed.

Well, lo and behold, my website wouldn’t respond. It finally did and said that there was an error. now nothing is working.

  • We’ll need a bit more information to even begin to help you. What kinds of errors are you getting? Can you get to the administration interface? What happens when you got to the index of your blog?

    Define “wouldn’t respond”.
    Define “an error”.
    Define “nothing”.

wouldn’t respond as in: it wouldn’t do anything past the index page
an error would be i can’t get to anything on my website
nothing means that’s exactly what its doing.

but im deleting the directory that had wordpress in it, reinstalling, and then renaming all of the sql tables to reflect on the new install.

i’m sorry – i just freaked out because, well, my entire site crashed.

    completely.

Sounds more like a momentary server issue.

nah – it was when i clicked on the remove this post link from my email – it ran the sql query and when i closed it i got the error that it had (can’t remember exact wording) lost a connection with something. it wasn’t a server issue – it was in the sql structure/usage or something.

sounds like your SQL server may have glitched — it does happen once in a blue moon. Either that, or based on your last comment, your DB server went down for a period of time.

Exactly, either a DB sercer went down or the SQL server.

You just used a nuclear weapon to kill a single mouse in the house.

Sometimes though, you need to be sure ??
