• Listen, the VISUAL editor has many problems regarding images and codes.

Example, if I post a paypal donation button on a page, then I click VISUAL editor, it messes it up, the link doesn’t work anymore and it has centering issues.

If I place a image in visual editor, then click text then click back visual, it somehow gets left aligned.

Any pieces of codes I place in the text editor, once I click that visual button it gets messed up!

Also the text editor needs way more options as I cannot switch between the visual editor to add an option because it will mess up images placed!

Could you instead use the “preview” button to view what your changes in the “text” tab look like? Instead of switching to the Visual tab (I assume that’s why you’re switching)?

What more options do you want to see in the editor, like what’s available in a TinyMCE plugin?

    Nope that’s not the issue.

My problem is, I don’t always remember every ‘code’ syntax so sometimes I may look in the visual editor for help. I mean like <center> etc, there not at the menu in the text editor.

The other problem is sometimes when you click on edit from the page it goes to the visual editor by default (it should go to the last editor used) then that messes it up and I’d have to use a revision to get back the correct code.

I mean like <center> etc, there not at the menu in the text editor.

Could you use another example? The <center> tag has been long deprecated.

Oh really? I still use center because it is not here https://puu.sh/5NIFB.png so I don’t remember to type out <p align = center or w/e it is.

I’m suggesting that the text editor gets updated with more tags like these https://puu.sh/5NIIP.png

Another example of the image issue.

In the text editor, the image is centered.. but when I clicked visual, this happened https://puu.sh/5NIKC.png

The “align” attribute is deprecated too btw.

It’s not clear why you want this to be added to WordPress Core as opposed to a plugin.

You said, <center> tag is deprecated, I tried using <p style=”text-align: center;”> in the text editor and this is the result https://puu.sh/5NIZu.png, also the paypal button in the middle lost it’s link.

I don’t know I’m just reporting this, because it’s kind of hard to make a page like this.

Switching editors DOES strip out code – that’s not new and the solution is to avoid switching editors.

Have you tried using the button that represents centred text to also center your images? I’ve outlined it in red here: https://snag.gy/zhQGH.jpg – Although then it’s up to your theme to utilise the class the WordPress applies to the image

That’s in the visual editor, I use the text editor for obvious reasons.

It’s fine you know, it’s just annoying how it strips out code, I mean why does it do that? That stripping of codes causes my links to break.
