    Hi,

    I installed yoast this morning and it seems to break the WordPress editor. I get the following message why trying to edit a post: The editor has encountered an unexpected error.

    The console also says: react-dom.min.js?ver=16.13.1:9 TypeError: Cannot read property ‘SnippetEditor’ of undefined.

    I’ve followed steps found online with users who’ve had a similar problem but no luck.

    I swtiched to troublshooting mode and deactived all plugins but yoast, reverted to twentytwenty and the issue is still there.

    Deactivating yoast removes the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Hello,

    We are sorry about that error.

    Can you confirm that you have Yoast SEO v16.1.1 and WordPress 5.7? Are other plugins and current theme also updated?

    @courtsdesign Thanks for your reply.

    Can you please try manually reinstalling the plugin to see whether this resolves the error. We have instructions on how to upgrade the plugin manually at the following link: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#ftp. You will need an FTP program such as FileZilla and your FTP details, which can be obtained from your host provider.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

    I just installed the plugin manually and we’re still seeing this error unfortunately.

    Hello @courtsdesign!

    Thanks for getting back to us.

    We’ve seen similar issues in the past and it turned out that the issue is caused by a conflict. If you’ve already done a conflict check and the issue only occurs when Yoast is activated, can you please try clearing all your site’s cache?

    Please clear your cache from your caching plugins, server, CDN like Cloudflare, and your browser. If you are not sure how to clear the cache from your caching plugin, please contact the plugin developer. If you’d like to clear the cache from your server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from your browser, use this guide. You may need to use another browser as well.

    If it’s still the same, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.
