Thanks for these details, @shai347.
1. All the saved templates are not visible in the editor — new and old.
This is the issue that we’re having a really hard time replicating, which makes us believe it’s occurring due to some kind of conflict between Web Stories and something else that’s part of your site – hosting, plugins, or theme, for example. I know it’s time-consuming and frustrating, but if you do have time to try the troubleshooting steps below, I think it will help us identify the issue here. Unfortunately we’re not able to do this for you as we are not allowed to access your site.
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin
- In WordPress admin, go to Plugins and click Troubleshoot to enable Troubleshooting Mode. This mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely; this will not affect what your site visitors see, as it only changes the look and feel of your website for logged-in administrators.
- On the Troubleshooting Mode page, under Web Stories, click Enable while troubleshooting
- Try editing a story and go to Templates > Saved Templates and see if your templates are there
- If the issue does not occur while in Troubleshooting Mode, re-enable your site’s plugins one-by-one by clicking Enable while Troubleshooting for each and checking the story again. This can help us pinpoint if a particular plugin or theme is causing the issue.
2. Text boxes — we have a hard time editing them.
We have another report of this issue that we’re investigating. Can you tell me what browser you’re experiencing this issue in?
3. Animations are not working on the first page of the story (cover page) — I shared a story for example through the form, just now.
In that story there’s an animation of a pen right at the background of the cover.
Disabling animations on the first page is part of an ongoing experiment in order to measure performance improvements, as noted in this issue: https://github.com/google/web-stories-wp/issues/9987. It will be running until at least the beginning of January. Afterwards, it might get turned off again, or perhaps even become a permanent change. In the latter case, we would of course provide a plugin update and accompanying guidance accordingly.
Let me know if you have any questions on any of this!
