    Hi,

    I want to set backups to a bucket in s3. However, I get this notice

    The difference between the request time and the current time is too large.

    This happened with another backup plugin as well. I wanted to change backup plugins anyway that had more features and decided on this one. However, I suffer the same issue with this plugin which leads me to believe it’s some sort of misconfiguration on my end. I double checked the offset in my wordpress settings for the time, they are correct. (In EST -> UTC+4)

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi @frillybob,
    What about the file size of your backup file?

    It’s pretty small, when downloading manually it’s under 12mb.

    It tells me the time is out of sync before I ever try to back up though. It’s when I’m just setting up a job.

    @frillybob,
    Did you sync correct timezone with Amazon EC2? I mean, If your Amazon EC2 timezone is Singapore, You should set your WP site timezone to Singapore timezone

    I am using amazon S3 not ec2. I do not believe there is any way to adjust the time. I did make sure that the bucket is in the same time zone as the server location selection on the plugin setting though.

    @frillybob,
    Ok, please try to use lastest version on GitHub to see if it works for you ??

    I’ll give that a shot tomorrow but this issue persists across different plugins. It’s probably some misconfiguration in either WordPress or Amazon S3 that I was hoping you guys had experience with before.

    As suspected the updated plugin did not change anything.

    Hi @frillybob, essentially your server time isn’t synced properly. It’s not the timezone, simply that your server time is out of sync. Show this to your host and ask them if they can resync the server clock.

    I would assume that this is a level above cpanel correct? I need to contact whoever is hosting the cpanel installation.

    Thanks

    @frillybob, yes, unless you have WHM access, which it doesn’t sound like.

    Thanks I will try to get in contact with the host.

    On an unrelated note, I did a test backup to dropbox, which doesn’t get angry at the time being out of sync. I noticed that the backup included the entire wordpress directory but I didn’t see the actual database backed up. Is that somewhere hidden in the backup or can it be rebuilt from just the wordpress files themselves? Sorry if this is a simple question, I am new to this.

    Note that I do have the “database backup” box checked in the job configuration screen.

    @frillybob, no problem at all. The database backup should be inside the root folder once you unzip the archive.
