    Hi!
I’m having an issue with adsense not appearing on my Homepage – everywhere else is fine
This has suddenly happenned in the last few days
On the Homepage, I get the warning “the content filter does not exist”
Normally I just paste the adsense code straight into a custom html widget, I’ve also tried using the advanced ads shortcode, but neither appear correctly
If I use the same adsense code or advanced ads shortcode on any other page, it works fine – only the homepage is not displaying adsense
Its a weird problem that I cant get my head around – any ideas?
    Thankyou!

    Hi ktsiterip,

    thanks for reaching out.

There is a warning in the browser’s error console giving away the cause of this:

message: "adsbygoogle.push() error: No slot size for availableWidth=0"

This basically means that the container the ad is placed in is too narrow when AdSense tried to fill it.

One solution I found working is to give the container a minimum width, like 250 px in the main CSS file. Another solution, and maybe you can try that first to confirm the cause, is to use an AdSense ad unit with a fixed size, e.g., 300×250. If that ad shows up then my assumption is correct and you can try to give the parent element that minimum width.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas
Thank you very much for your help!
That does not seem to make any difference unfortunately. I’ve tried various fixed size ads

The weird thing is that ads show up on the homepage when I am in WP customiser….
So, I think the size thing must not be the issue.

Added to this is the fact that sidebar ads appear on normal posts in the blog sidebar – but not on the front page – which uses the same sidebar!

We’ll be happy to purchase the pro version of advanced ads if we can resolve this issue

    Hi ktsiterip,

    thanks for your feedback.

Advanced Ads Pro would not resolve this. I am starting to think that the issue might be in the AdSense account. Since none of the ads are working on the home page and all of them work on a post, it might be an automatic measure by AdSense. The ad codes are fine and my previous assumption about the size does not fit to all of the missing ad units.

Please contact AdSense directly using the “Contact” option on this page.

Of course, I am curious to learn what they have to say about it.

    Best regards,
    Thomas
