    Hi,

My aiowps scan report mails (changed files) have stopped coming for some weeks ago (from several sites). After a lot of investigation I have got the explanation from my IP provider (Telia). The mails sent miss a “SPF post mark” (or something like that), which is demanded since quite recently, with the result that Telia stops these mails. After further investigations, checked with my web hotel, they say that the aiowps report mails are not sent from their servers. Quite confusing from my view. Also confusing, after checking earlier report mails, is that the sender of the report mails seems to be myself, i.e. that the scanning report mails seems to be sent from my private email address. My conclusions are that aiowps possibly picks my WP administration mail address and use this as sender of the reports.

Well, anyway, I guess the problems mentioned will increase if/when further IP providers start to demand a “SPF post mark”. Is it anything you can do to change how the scan report mails are sent, such as change the sender to be the web hotel, or add the “SPF post mark” to the report mail sender? In my case my web hotel has come with a quite tricky solution, by using the “Easy WP SMTP” plugin. It works for some of my sites, but I still not know if for all. But better would be if you make the necessary changes.

    Best regards
    Gurra

    Hi,

Are you talking about the following feature Send Email When Change Detected:? This is located under WP Security -> Scanner -> File Change Detection.

    Regards.

    Hi,

    Yes that is correct.

I am not sure if you missed the point, when you describe where I find the feature. I know where it is, and I use it.

The problem? Not the feature as such. The scan is performed, the mail report is sent. The problem is that my IP provider since some weeks ago stops the mails. See explanation above.

I have found a work around. See above.

Perhaps you may not see the problem as yours, and that may be correct. But probably you will meet this issue again, and to avoid the need to answer future support questions about this problem, it may be an idea that you change how the aiowps plugin creates and sends scan report mails. This is solely a kindly suggestion, aimed to help.

    Best regards

Hi, thank you for reporting back.

I am not sure if you missed the point, when you describe where I find the feature. I know where it is, and I use it.

My apologies, I was merely asking if that is the feature you are talking about. I just wanted to make sure we are on the same page ??

Thank you for your recommendation. We sometimes recommend “Easy WP SMTP” plugin to users with email issues. It is much easier to use this plugin rather than tampering with the source code that currently works really well on many different servers/platforms. Sometimes it comes down to how the host manages their servers and email services.

    Kind regards.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your answer!

No problems, I assumed I maybe misunderstood. Easy to do ??

I understand your point of view. It is only you that can make the overall judgement. I have got it all working now on all my sites, so no problems any more for me.

    Thanks again!
