The Case of the Disappearing WP Site

  • I installed and configured this plugin on 4 sites yesterday. I only used the “recommended” settings. 3 of the sites are working well and fast, however the site hosted with GoDaddy is no longer accessible through http. I cannot get to the dashboard or to any back end areas. FTP is not an issue. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, I’m all open to hear them. I have wiped my browsers cache and that gets me to the homepage, but when I go to wp-admin, it’s just a white page with nothing.

    Should I be hesitant on installing this on my WP sites?

    Hey Jeff, I’m having the same issue with my website https://www.theSceneinTO.com For the past three days it has been slow, and has had the following message on all pages and my dashboard:

    define( ‘WPCACHEHOME’, ‘/home/content/36/5836536/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/’ ); //Added by WP-Cache Manager

    I deleted the plugin and now I cannot even get into my dashboard at all…I ALSO host with Go Daddy…it seems to be their issue from what I can tell from the other threads…

    Jared, I’ve never had a problem with the plugin until now and I’ve used it for years…

    Hi, Go Daddy is a good host however I have read many issues from time to time in regards to WordPress sites hosted in Go Daddy. That is why I always sign up with other host for my clients. www.remarpro.com recommends a few host , that have a great reputation.

    Perhaps in time you might consider changing host.

    Just my humble opinion.

    Well, I was able to deactivate the plugin and now all is well. I never use GoDaddy for my own sites and never recommend my clients to, but this particular client came to me after they already bought hosting. I think I am going to just not use the plugin on this site. It works great on all other websites though.
