The Best FREE WordPress Themes ~ Your Favorites?

    Today I read some articles on the best free WP themes. I’m having some growing pains with my move from Typepad and Movable Type. Because of my budget, I can only focus on free themes for now. The ones I admire that are being used by popular websites were all paid for, but I’m hoping to find similar designs that have been tried and tested and have a sound reputation. Magazine style seems to be my preferred format. What are some of your favorite themes that you wouldn’t mind sharing here?

    I’m loving that they help demystify this stuff a bit by offering a pretty thorough description of the different themes like Graphene and how will they stand up to abuse and testing. This is such a different world than other blogging platforms, but I it’s worth hanging in there and figuring things out. I’ve had friends tell me that WordPress rocks, but for their basic needs they are kind of flying blind and haven’t ever stepping into the forums. On the business front, though, you need to know at least some of the why’s and how’s to your website, so that’s why I’m going to keep asking questions and doing my research.
