The activity failed: The server failed to retrieve the backup. The reason is unk

  • I tried a manual backup today and it failed twice, with the message in the header being displayed. Actually, I had set the schedule for a daily backup, but this is the first time I checked the backup dashboard in a while. It turns out that none of the scheduled daily backups have been completed since April 20 of this year.

    Please help.

  • I am also having the same problem. Backup has failed every day since June 5, with these error messages:
    The backup failed: The server failed to retrieve the backup. The reason is unknown. Please consult the activity log.
    The server failed to retrieve the backup. The reason is unknown.
    The unknown error token the server returned was: UNKNOWN_FAILURE

    I downloaded the full backup and deleted it, and ran a manual backup with the same results.

    I am very close to the 100 mb file limit, but I believe removal of old files to make room is automatic?

    My online vault (samadhiclients) is at 68% capacity.
    I’m logged in to the account.
    Weekly scheduled backups since June 1 have failed.
    Manual backup today failed too.

    Yesterday’s backup was successful, after a string of failures. I didn’t change anything. Anyone else have a resumption of successful backups?

    I was able to do a manual backup of one site and send it to the vault. I tried to do the same for another site (using a different Backup Technology account) and got the same failure as before.
