I upgraded to 5.0.1 on a couple of WP’s, and stuck at the top of the plugins and breadcrumbs setting page is the message “Breadcrumb NavXT was just updated from a pre-5.0 version, please go to your plugins page and activate Breadcrumb NavXT. Also, deactivate Breadcrumb NavXT 5.0 Migration Compatibility Layer to make this message disappear”.

Breadcrumb NavXT *IS* activated and the Migration Compatibility Layer *IS* deactivated. The only way the msg disappears is if the Migration Compatibility Layer is activated (but then the breadcrumbs stop working).

This is happening on both WP installations. It’s not a big deal because breadcrumbs are working fine, the settings page is working fine. It did this in WP 3.8 and 3.7.1.

This doesn’t seem correct. The Breadcrumb NavXT 5.0 Migration Compatibility Layer plugin only does 2 things they are:

    1. Display the warning message you are seeing to any user in the admin that can activate/deactivate plugins
    2. Include the main Breadcrumb NavXT plugin file so that the breadcrumbs will still show up for users migrating from something prior to 5.0.

Please check again to ensure that the plugin “Breadcrumb NavXT 5.0 Migration Compatibility Layer DO NOT ACTIVATE” is not activated and the plugin “Breadcrumb NavXT” is activated. They should show up next to each other in your plugins list.

I’m really sorry — I was doing this too late at night and got mixed up. My apologies for bothering you!

    Thanks much, Vicki

It may be advisable to rephrase the message to say “Breadcrumb Migration Compatibility Layer _Plugin_”. The user doesn’t know that a new plugin is installed and assumes it is a setting within the plugin.

    My 2 pence ??

I reworded that second sentence to make it more clear that “Breadcrumb NavXT 5.0 Migration Compatibility Layer” is a plugin. Will start showing up in the next release (5.0.2 or 5.1).
