Thai URL/Permalink

We have an existing site in English and want to add corresponding Thai content for each page.

We’ve installed and configured Polylang and we can create the content with no issues, BUT the url’s/permalinks are coming through as gobbledygook UTF-8 . . .

https://www.domain.com/th/%e0%b9%80%e0%b8%81%e0%b8%b5%e0%b9%88%e0%b8%a2%e0%b8%a7%e0%b8%81%e0%b8%b1%e0%b8%9a%e0%b9%80%e0%b8%a3%e0%b8%b2/.php

How do we get this to be “Thai” characters in the url that uses the category (that is set in Thai language) and the page title (that is also set in Thai language)?
