• Hi,

I’ve installed Tempera (and the settings plugin thing) and enabled the responsive tab and the zoom facility in the settings.

When I view my site on my phone (held in “portrait”), I can see the header image goes across the screen, but all of the text underneath displays 3 or 4 characters before wrapping down to the next line.

If I rotate my phone so that it’s landscape, the text expands to fill to only half of the width.

In either orientation I can’t zoom in to the text either.

    Any idea what’s going on?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Paul

    Yes, here it is:

At the moment it’s running directly off the parent theme. I tried creating a child theme with no modifications to the CSS, but it wouldn’t display header menus properly. Then again, I had the same problem with the twentyfourteen theme too so it’s probably something not related to the theme but something else.

    Hi again,

I can get around it by enabling the mobile theme module in the jetpack plugin, but I think I’m going to have to sort out the [non theme specific] menu problem before I make to the move to Tempera as I’d like to use a child theme to preserve any future changes.

Site’s set back now to my original (child) theme, my deepest apologies if I’ve wasted your time ??

    Hi,

Got the menu sorted (finally!) but I’m still having trouble with the tempera theme responsiveness which also shows on the desktop.

My layout is content with one sidebar on the right. If I reduce the browser window width, everything is fine until the right sidebar drops beneath the content – it’s below, but right justified which means that there’s a lot of white space to the right of the content.

As I reduce screen width further, the white space stays so the content width is always half the screen width.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the theme, clearing the W3 cache and browser history but the problem remains…

    The site is at:

I’ve enabled the jetpack mobile theme so it looks OK on a phone, but ideally I’d like to disable this and use the theme’s responsiveness – as well it working properly on the desktop version!

Not sure if this information is useful, but when I view my site through the wp-admin/customise menu then everything works fine – the right side bar moves directly under the content and there is no white space to the right of the content…
