Text over header in twenty ten theme

You will have to make a child theme and change the header.php file

I’m using a child theme. Can you provide details on the header.php modifications? Thanks.

I came up with a solution, not sure if it’s a great one but seems to work:

In header.php, add a div with relative positioning (I put it in just after the header img code):

1. I am using template twenty thirteen. I find the type and the header itself too large. How can I reduce the size of the type in the header and the space above and below the title typed in the header?
2. I created a post and entered Tags as the site allowed but the tags showed up in the post after I published it. How can I hide the tags?
The Post is a second one so it is found by scrolling down to the footer and clicking on “Give Thought to Gift Purchases”
