Text on Image Hover?

  • Hi,

    I’ve seen a lot of questions about changing the hover color over the images, but I was wondering if it’s possible to get text to appear in those squares during the hover. Is there any way to have the Exerpt text appear there, for instance? Thanks!

    Displaying the post excerpt on hover would require making a child theme that outputs the excerpt:

    You’d also need to style the excerpt so that it does not display by default, appearing only on hover.

    You’d need to be quite careful if you went forward with this, as there isn’t a lot of room on each image, so your excerpts would probably need to be quite short to display properly.
