Text not wrapping around sliders

I used a couple different sliders (Meta Slider and Soliloquy Slider), and tried to wrap text to the left of the slider by setting the size relatively small (500px) and floating it to the right. Both times I was able to float it, but the text on the page does not wrap to the left of the slider. It is only goes below it, and there is a big white space to the left of the slider. Is there anything I can do with the code, possibly in style.css, to make the text wrap correctly? Thank you in advance.
