Hello. many texts on this and other pages are not available in the strings list for translation. Some i think are made by Woocommerce, others i am not sure. In the shop page, the “Shop” title is not available for translation for example as well as the breadcrumb and the page title “Products” and “products categories” , “choose price” etc Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I think this might have been rectified now by adding an actual second language on the list of languages. I had just added only one language. I added the default language (original strings) as a second language now.

But now i have other issues. The breadcrumb on the translated page title is not visible plus there are a href links to home page on every div in the translated page, for example clicking on the right drop down (sorting order) menu leads to the homepage …

    Thank you again

Actually inside the visual translator the breadcrumb is missing from both the english (EN) and the greek (EL) page.

And here is how the second language (EL) page looks comparing to the original (EN):

    The

    <span><a href="https://aeroprint.me/en/" title="Home">Home</a></span>

    has been replaced by

    <span><a href="https://aeroprint.me/el/" title="Home" data-no-translation-title=""></a></span>

    and the

    <a href="https://aeroprint.me/el/" title="Home" data-no-translation-title=""></a>

has been inserted also in almost every section of the page

    The

    ::before

also has been removed from the breadcrumb chevron line

I have tried all the options in the advanced tab and general tabs, even on a clean unedited WP + Theme test install, with no change …

The breadcrumb (“Home >”) in the second language is missing no matter what, plus there are links to home page (<a href="https://aeroprint.me/el/" title="Home"></a>) in various irrelevant parts of the page, hindering functions

    Thank you

    Hi there,

I’m sorry for the late reply.

Considering your problem, this does indeed look like something that would get fixed by activating the “Fix spaces between HTML attributes”/”Fix broken HTML”, but you already tried that.

Can you perhaps tell me what template yo uare using? I need it in order to reproduce your problem.

In the meantime, I’ll write below what the normal advice for such situation is.

You might have a bug or conflict with your current theme / plugins.

Can you please visit TranslatePress -> Settings -> Advanced

Then, enable these features 1 by 1 in this order and try to see if it makes a difference. Disable them back if it makes no difference. Also please disable or clear the cache if you have any.

    1. Fix spaces between HTML attributes
    2. Fix broken HTML
    3. Fix missing dynamic content
    4. Disable dynamic translation
    5. Disable post container tags for post title
    6. Disable post container tags for post content
    7. Enable this plugin that disables execution of text widget shortcodes https://translatepress.com/download/1151172/
    8. Try manually searching for incorrect formatting around the area where it breaks.
You need to Right click->View source in the browser (inspect elements browser feature automatically corrects so it’s not useful)
Could be useful to compare translated page source with original language html source with a tool such as https://www.text-compare.com .
Search in theme (most likely) or plugins a keyword around where the broken HTML code is outputted, and fix it.

    Best regards,
    Cristian

    Thank you.

The Theme is Phlox with the “Digital Shop” demo . Both are available in the free version so you can possibly replicate my setup

    Hi there,

Thanks for letting me know what theme you are using.

Enabling “Fix broken HTML” solved “clicking on the right drop down (sorting order) menu leads to the homepage” problem (at least for me).

I was able to reproduce the problem (with the breadcrumb) and it seems to be a conflict between Phlox and our plugin.

I will forward this to our development team, but I can’t give you a timeframe for when it will get fixed.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for understanding.

    Best regards,
    Cristian

    Thank you Christian.
    I really appreciate this.

Its a possibility maybe of conflict with woocommerce or elementor ? For some reason TP is auto replacing the title line with a “data-no-translation-title” , it maybe thinks this is an area that should not to be translated for some reason …

If your team can come up with some workaround for me till they sort out the bug in TP (if it is a bug in TP) like some php code adding or moifying etc, that would save me.

    Thank you once more!

    Hi again,

I should have mentioned that the problem is with the Phlox theme.

I tested it on a local site that initially used the Storefront theme and everything was working fine until I installed and tested the Phlox theme.

There seems to be a conflict regarding it so if possible, I would recommend you to choose another theme, unless you really need this one.

As for a workaround, I can’t provide one now, but I’ll try to look into it when I get the chance and if you really need it.

Sorry once again for this inconvenience and thanks for understanding.

    Best regards,
    Cristian

The thing is that i am very close in finishing the site and i have put already lot of work in it so its not possible unfortunately to abandon the theme ?? I am contacting the support of the Theme as well about this. But yes i’d say really need a possible workaround if that’s feasible ??

    Thanks once more!

Note, i tried the “fix broken html” option but it still didn’t remove the links to homepage

i dont know if there is some way maybe to just change with TP the default language (original strings) and not add a second language for the time being

    Cristian Draghia

    (@cristiandraghia)

    Hi again,

Changing the default language will invalidate existing translations. We can’t keep them because the translations are directional and you’ll also need to change ALL your content directly in the new language.

The default language is the language your content was written in.

If you want another language to be the first language, then simply enable:

    * Use TranslatePress -> Settings -> Subdirectory for default language -> Yes
    * Reorder the languages

You can also remove the translated language and add it at a later time. The translations won’t be lost. Actually, the translations won’t be lost even if you delete the plugin.

    Best regards,
    Cristian

    Thread Starter monographix

    (@monographix)

Thank you Christian. I meant replacing (hopefully with the help of visual editor) the original strings (default language) texts (so although it is registered as English, the content actually includes greek texts)

    Cristian Draghia

    (@cristiandraghia)

    Hi again,

I’m still not sure if I understand what you mean, but if you want to introduce Greek text in the default English page, you can do that.

You can’t translate the default language with TP because it’s used to translate in different languages. But no one stops you from writing Greek text when you are using English as your default language.

    Best regards,
    Cristian
