Good evening, for a long time I have planned and used in the gallery setting, the additional text of the slideshow link. For some time, although this text is always provided, it is no longer visible in any gallery and in any photo. Could you explain to me why and what I can do? Thanks, Vittorio

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @portantica,

Could you please try using a different browser to see if the captions will show up with ImageBrowser?

Checking the gallery page that you’ve provided, it appears that the images’ captions are displaying just fine. I am not excluding that we are missing something specific to replicate the problem though.

    Good morning,
even using a different browser the problem persists as it is not the subtitles or the captions of the images, but the possibility of inserting a sentence from: gallery setting … pro mosaic … text link slideshow … sentence that is always was this: “click on the photo to enlarge”. This sentence used to appear in all galleries, now no longer, although it still remains present in the settings. Thanks Vittorio

Thanks @portantica for more details on it.

As long as we know, the “Show Slideshow” link can still be enabled while using Basic Thumbnails gallery display type and I don’t think it was previously possible to use it with Basic ImageBrowser.

Excuse me, but then I ask you, which settings should I change in order to set this link or wording, which in my case I would like to appear as “Click on the photo to enlarge” and which I assure you was present before? Thanks again, Vittorio

    Hi @portantica,

Perhaps you were using Basic Thumbnail gallery display type for your galleries before.
If that was the case, please opt for this gallery display type then access "NextGen Gallery -> Gallery Settings -> Basic Thumbnails" enable "Show slideshow link" then set your own wording for "Slideshow link text" and "Save Options" to apply the change.

    Hope this helps

Everything was already set up exactly like this, but everything remains the same, unfortunately …

@portantica, could you please make sure that you are specifically using Basic Thumbnails gallery display type and not Basic ImageBrowser?

Basic ImageBrowser doesn’t support a “Show Slideshow” link.

That is, where it says “base extended album” and “use image browser effect” I remove the check from yes and put “no”?

That’s not what you are using on the gallery page that you’ve mentioned initially. Looks like you are using BasicImagebrowser for that gallery and you must be using Basic Thumbnails instead to enable "Show Slideshow" link.

"Basic Extended Album" has nothing to do with the above being an album display type and not a gallery display type. Basic Extended Album doesn’t support displaying a “Show Slideshow” link.

    Good morning,
I apologize, I kindly ask you, step by step, to describe me, patiently, what practical operations I have to do and where to intervene, in order to insert the words “Click on the photo to enlarge”. Thank you and sorry, Vittorio

Sure. You will need to edit the gallery page, edit the NextGen Gallery module that’s inserted into the page, choose Basic Thumbnails gallery display type, access the “Customize Display Settings” tab then enable “Show slideshow link” and set your own wording for “Slideshow link text”, press “Insert Gallery” button and publish the page to apply the changes.

While thanking you infinitely, I also ask you this, I am still adopting the legacy model, now obsolete and deprecated, can I continue to adopt it or can I have problems? Thanks, Vittorio

    Good morning,
I’m back here because a strange thing happened that I inform you about … I was about to intervene as you advised me, but first I passed the last update of NGG this morning. Well, after updating to today’s version, without having made any changes to those recommended by you, the wording I wanted and that has always been there and was foreseen in the settings, has appeared again! Maybe it all depended on previous updates? Anyway all is well what ends well … Thanks again, Vittorio

That’s interesting. Perhaps NextGen’s settings got reset after the update ( this normally shouldn’t happen but we’ve heard of such rare cases from time to time ) and that has brought up the “View Slideshow” link back.

Sorry for my other question, that is I am still adopting the legacy model, now obsolete and deprecated, can I continue to adopt it or can I have problems? Thank you in advance for the further reply and for the assistance provided previously, Vittorio
