Was there a limit introduce with the recent yoast plugin? I used to see all the outbound count links in the post summary. Now its only for the latest 61 posts

I got 61 from running the “Count links in your text” in the tools yoast free plugin.

I used to see all the outbound links from all my posts..

  • Hi @obs619,

We’re sorry for the trouble caused by our plugin regarding outbound count links in the post preview page.

To clarify, you can also reset the Text Link Counter and run it again with the Yoast Test Helper plugin:

    1. Install the Yoast Test Helper plugin.
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Click on the “Reset Internal Link Counter” button.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools and click on “Count Links in your texts”.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

@suascat_wp that’s not working. After updating your plugin internal links are still calculated absolutely incorrectly. After clicking on “Reset Internal Link Counter” the link for recalculation does not appear. Aren’t you ashamed of being respectable developers to allow such bugs?

@suascat_wp didn’t work, still seeing 61. already tried clearing caches in between.
@novostimk so im not the only one experiencing this issue :/

We understand after updating the Yoast SEO plugin to the latest version, you no longer see the correct number of inbound and outbound links. We are also seeing quite a few reports where the orphaned content counter shows an incorrect number of pages after the plugin update.

Can you please confirm whether the issue you are currently experiencing is similar to the one posted here https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/15987?

@mazedulislamkhan yes the same issue, actually the posts that do have numbers doesn’t even update when I update that page :/ while the rest remain at 0

In this case, please do feel free to provide as much information as you can in the relevant GitHub issue so that we can reproduce it on our end and fix the issue.

just did, in the meantime, how do I downgrade to 14.8 because this is really a big issue on my end

    Hi @obs619 ,

While we don’t recommend running previous versions of plugins as they may not be secure or stable, you may get the previous version of the plugin here if you find it really necessary to install it.

@jerparx , installing the previous version doesn’t solve the problem – the number of internal links is still wrong. You’ve made a big bug. Now think how to fix it quickly and apologize to your users at least!

    @novostimk

We apologize for the issues you are having with the plugin. We understand it is frustrating when things aren’t working as expected. At this time we are working to figure out what the exact cause of the issue is. We would love any input you can provide regarding the issue!

We recommend commenting on the open issue here https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/15987. That way you can be kept informed. You may need an account in order to post.

the correct counter came back as well as the outgoing and internal link count column when i switched back to 14.8.1 and clicked the count text link in the tools.

The 14.9 is only showing 1 column which is the outgoing internal link column.

** Maybe you guys should look at why your query for the button counting the links changed in 14.9 and also removed the internal link column on 14.9
** Seems to be an issue on retrieving the incorrect number of posts on the text link counter

    Hi @obs619

With v14.9 of the Yoast SEO plugin, just to confirm, you reset the text link counter data via the Yoast Test Helper plugin and then re-ran the text link counter tool and the issue is that there is no column in the posts overview for ‘number of internal links linking to this post’? Is this correct?

Just to be sure, did you check on your screen options and confirm that the ‘received internal links’ option was ticked?

    (@obs619)

@mikes41720 i didnt need to use the toast test helper. Here is what I did:

    1. Deactivate 14.9 plugin
    2. Upload 14.8.1 and override the current 14.9 plugin
    3. SEO->Tools-> Clicked the ‘Count text link’ button below the Text Link Counter
    4. I see the correct amount of posts being processed in the modal
    5. I go to my posts and I see ALL of my posts now have the correct outgoing and internal link counter

The issue was 14.9 was only showing outgoing internal links and 70% of my posts had 0 and everytime I update the number of outgoing links of the 30% with a value, it doesn’t update upon updating the post.

In 14.8.1, i see the link counter column get update everytime i update a post

    * I am not sure about that screen options or where to find that
PS: I think I was only seeing the outgoing internal link column and not the internal link one before as well, but after downgrading back to 14.8.1, i see the 2 columns, I don’t remember changing any setting for this

I repeat again: rolling back to the previous version of the plugin, installing yoast-test-helper.1.8, as well as the reset and link recalculation buttons do not solve the problem!

    Hi,

One of the users reported in the comments on the GitHub issue that they were also using W3 Total Cache and found that disabling page cache helped resolve their issue. Would it be possible for you to check it here and see if it could be of help.

With regard to screen options, it’s on the upper right-hand corner of the posts overview. Please do click on it and check if the ‘received internal links’ is ticked or is a possible option — https://pasteboard.co/Jr9G1GO.png
