    (@marginalisedmainstream)

I hadn’t checked my blog (www.marginalisedmainstream.com/blog) for a while, and when I loaded the page, it says “great ass shot” under the heading. This is a professional academic blog–I definitely did not put this there! The text shows up as a link but it does not work.
How do I get rid of it? It doesn’t appear in the same place as a tagline; I tried adding a tagline, then removing it. I disabled all the widgets, changed the header, removed the header, added an image, removed the image….
I’ve looked and cannot find any indication of this in my dashboard.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Also: have I been hacked? Do I need to take additional security measures? I changed my password already.
Please forgive if this is not in the right section.
    Thank you!

  • I am sorry to hear your site is damaged. Do you or your hosting company have a full backup of your site? The fastest and most sure way to repair your site is to restore from a backup made before the hack.

Without a backup your only permanent solution is to repair the site. Follow this guide.

When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.
