    Okay, I found it. For example you have to change in the template white_stream_tpl.php at line 33 the value for trimText from 250 to 1000:

    <?php if($OnePost['message']):?><p><?php echo $SocialStream->trimText($OnePost['message'],1000);?></p><?php endif;?>
