• When I paste my text into my post from Word, I get funky spacing. When I go in and fix the funky spacing and hit save, none of my changes seem to save. (Whether I fix them in the visual editor or html.)

So then I pasted in my text from notepad (assuming Word styles were causing the funky spacing). It looks okay until I hit save, then all my text disappears.

This all worked a month ago when I did my last post. I’m doing this exactly how I’ve always done it. So it shouldn’t be user error. Help.

  • Try a test post where you key in text and not paste it.

Exactly the same thing happens. I hit “Save draft” and poof, everything is gone. When I do a preview, the title of the post is there, but no text.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I haven’t…the exact same configuration worked a month ago, and I hven’t made any changes in plug-ins or anything. I was just hoping to do a quick post and not do major maintenance. Gotta love technology….not.

So – I guess I have some testing to do. Thanks for the steps to try.
