    Hi guys,

I am rather new to WordPress and have a question about text editing basically. I have a site called prices and we have different prices for different categories. So what I want is to group the categories to so that just the headings are visible and if I click on one category it should open up the table with the prices.

Thanks in advance for any ideas how this can be done.

    Best wishes

Try this show/hide plugin to see if it does what you’re looking for.

Thank you that was just what I was looking for! We also have a featured image on every pahe but for the home page I would like to have a featured slideshow instead of just a picture.. any idea how to best do this? I tried different plugins but can’t get it featured.

    Thanks.

I’m not sure I’m understanding your question on getting the slide show featured.

Most of the slide show plugins have a shortcode you can just insert in the content where you want it to appear. It doesn’t have to be featured.

Are you wanting the slide show to show the featured images from other pages?

I have a home page with a featured image, but I want to replace the image with a slideshow. But I can just manage to insert the slideshow in the text area as for the featured image I can just choose from the pictures in my media and I can’t insert a link or something. Does this make somehow sense?

First you would need to remove the featured image for the home page.

Then using a slideshow plugin you would create the slideshow with the images you want. Some slideshows allow you to pull from the media library, some keep their images separate. There a lots of slideshow plugins so you would need to try some out and find one that is to your liking.

Once you’ve set up the slideshow, they generally provide some shortcode that you can insert into the page. You would insert this in the content area of your homepage.

Ok I’m sorry but it is still not really clear to me. We use the theme twenty fourteen and if I put the slideshow in the content area it doesn’t show the same way as the featured image would. Could it be that I have to change something in the appearance settings of the theme?

    That’s basically what I want.

You might try asking about the slideshow in the forum that is dedicated to the Twenty Fourteen theme.
