Greetings – I have a question concerning applying different font sizes via the ‘Text Editor’ module.

In order to apply different paragraph font sizes within the same text editor module, I have been using the ‘TinyMCE Advanced’ plugin.

Recently ‘Tiny MCE’ has stopped working within the Nimble Builder ‘Text Editor’ model (NBTEM): When opening my content in NBTEM, the Tiny MCE menu menu briefly appears for a second, and then disappears, showing only the standard text formatting options.

    Some trouble-shooting information:
    – I have cleared my browser cache and have reproduced the error in Chrome & Firefox (OSX)
    – My WordPress system is fully up to date (plugins etc.).
    – I have multiple Customizr Pro sites – they are experiencing the same issue.
    – I have turned off all other plugins (except for Nimble Builder and TinyMCE)
    – TinyMCE works properly with my standard WordPress content.

I realize this involves compatibility with another plugin, however as my site includes both standard WordPress and Nimble Builder content, it is important for me to be able to format my text with varying font-sizes: NBTEM appears to only allow me to apply a uniform font-size to the entire module. I have searched Nimble Editor support to find a solution however cannot find anything – I would be happy to use any recommended solution to apply multiple font sizes in a text module.

I would be happy to provide more detailed System Info – if so is there a way that I could send it directly?

BTW, thank you for the great work on Nimble Builder – it continues to improve and I really enjoy using it.

    ~ Cheers

Thanks for reporting this issue with TinyMCE Advanced.
    I’m investigating it.

@schmee besides the font size control, are there any other formatting options that you would like to see in the current nimble builder editor ?

Nicolas – thank you for your quick reply.

Besides the font-size, I feel that being able to apply different font-types/families (in the same module) would be great as well.

One thing I’ve noticed (when using the Tiny MCE editor) is that when you re-edit a previously formatted text module, the editor incorrectly renders your previously formatted text, forcing you to again re-format everything (this is especially common with lists).

Yes, I’m exploring the font family addition for a future version.
For now, the editor will include the font-size picker, like in tiny mce advanced.
However, porting all tiny mce advanced customizations to the Nimble Builder editor is not on the agenda for the moment. I prefer to keep as much control as possible on what is displayed in the customizer, otherwise this can lead to many plugin compatibility problems. Like for example here, where a plugin overrides the tinymce editor, but not as smoothly as tinymce advanced does it.

One thing I’ve noticed (when using the Tiny MCE editor) is that when you re-edit a previously formatted text module, the editor incorrectly renders your previously formatted text, forcing you to again re-format everything (this is especially common with lists).

This problem has been solved recently. I can’t reproduce it on my end. Can you describe the steps to reproduce it ? ( when all plugins are disabled ).
    Thanks

Nicolas – thanks for your reply – a font-size picker would be great and I understand your need to keep a balance between control and plugin compatibility.

Concerning the unordered list bug, yes that may have been resolved in the last release: When I experienced that issue I was using Tiny MCE Advanced (in NPB) to edit my text, and as that plugin is not currently working I have not been making any edits to verify things.

@schmee can you confirm that version 1.5.3 (latest) fixes your initially reported problem ?
