  • Try manually reuploading the wp-includes directory to your WordPress core. I have found it will correct a multitude of sins.

I am having the EXACT problem described by TFolder. I tried Priscilla’s suggestion and got no love. Still having the same problem.

@tfolder: Just curious. Under Users > Your Profile. Is the “Disable the visual editor when writing” option at the top checked or unchecked? (Mine was unchecked) When it is checked, go back and see of you can at least now edit posts\pages properly with the exception being that the “visual” edit tab is now not an option (not even visible anymore). That is the behavior that my wordpress install is exhibiting. And if you go back and uncheck “Disable the visual editor when writing” and save then the same, uncorrect behavior returns.

This is an issue that is becoming more of a problem, especially as I have started having clients report that their workflow is interrupted ever since the 4.7.1 update.

Note: have ALL plugins deactivated and set theme to 2015 and wordpress problem persists.
