Text edit form destroys text

  • Hi,
    I’m sorry again to report that text edit form (TinyMice) destroys any formatted text.

    1. if you input some intelligence formatted text into text tab, for example
      <p><em>Examples:</em></p>
      after accidental switching to “visual” tab or inputting imgage through pressing “add image” button the content of field (in text tab) converts to
      <p>&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Example:&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</p>
    2. Either all new lines in text tab converts to <br> while saving
    3. enter and shift+enter work opposite to the statdart behavior

    I removed autop filtering from the site as well as all other devils assistance and editing works perfect everywhere except this plugin.

    This is very old issue. The first time I reported it many years ago. Nothing has changed since that time/ I understand that it’s not easy to fix it quickly but, probably you could temporary remove tinymice at all, changing it to a simple textarea block?

    Hi Sumitsanadhya,

    I can’t reproduce the issue stable. It happens sometimes when I have a few wp admin screens opened and edited the same time (a few quizzes, posts and pages).

    I’ll be keeping trying to investigate this issue for you better.

    Hello Sumit,

    I have caught an example of destroying text by plugin’s admin edit form. It’s not exactly that I described above but it’s reproducing well:

    Another thing is that the plugin is doing something similar applying the template for output the result. I even had to make another plugin to fix bugs of your plugin otherwise it outputs ugly.

    Really, it would be much easy to type html to textarea field then to fix that “smart” edit helper destroys. Any way to set something smart, inputing html is unavoidable.
