    Hi,

We’ve noticed a new issue in the last few months – when newsletters are sent from MailPoet, the text seems to disappear when viewing the HTML version. The text is there in the HTML source but just doesn’t display. We’ve tested this in Gmail and Outlook, same issue.

    Please help!

    Thanks,

    Ed

    Hi @edweiss,

Can you please share more details about the issue you’re facing?

when newsletters are sent from MailPoet, the text seems to disappear when viewing the HTML version.

Which type of text are you referring to? Is this part of a post displayed in the newsletter? Is this a custom HTML text added to the newsletter editor?

Can you please let us know if you’re copying/pasting this text from somewhere else (e.g. Google Docs)?

    Hi!

It’s custom HTML test added through the newsletter editor that’s disappearing. I’m not sure if it’s pasted from somewhere else but I will find out.

The odd thing is that it works fine if we send it through MailPoet but it seems to disappear if we send it through out usual SMTP service (Postmark). Postmark is trying to troubleshoot as well but so far no luck!

Hi, I have an update about this issue.

The text only seems to disappear when we use a template that has columns. One-column templates work fine.

This is the case even without adding any additional text, i.e. using the stock template.

Once again, it only happens when we use an external SMTP service, not when we use MailPoet to send.

Can you advise if there’s anything being done to the outgoing message that might explain this discrepancy?

    Thanks!

This is something that your SMTP service should be able to investigate further as we have no records of emails that are sent through other sending methods.

For troubleshooting purposes, it would be good if you could try to reproduce this issue by sending with your host. If you are not able to reproduce it, it’s likely that your SMTP service is somehow causing this behavior.

    Hi there @edweiss,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
