    Hi Kybernetik,

I’m happily using the recent post widget with thumbnails for my website, but do have a problem with the text of post-summaries.

This text is displayed horizontally at the right side of the thumbnail. That usually works fine, apart from posts that have long words in the first few lines. Being part of the summary, the words that don’t fit because they are too long then crumbles into a rope of le

    t
    e
    r
    s

Is there any way to prevent that from happening? For instance by forcing the summary-text to appear underneath the thumnbnail?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @joslammers .
    Thank you for reaching out.
This effect depends on the layout of your website, css and the left space for textt.
You are using Recent Posts Widget With Thumbnails on a sidebar with a width of 232px. The image has a width of 150px plus 12px margin (=162px). So, you have just 70px left space for the text.
Best would be to give the image a width of at least 200px so, there is no space left beside the image and the text moves below it.
Please let me know if this works for you.

    That works!

    Thanks!

Oeps, it doesn’t on small screens…

Is there no other way to prevent words to fall apart into ununderstandable pieces? In no other area of the website (theme Sydney – WP 5.9.3) someting like this happens…

I can not see an issue on a mobile screen. Could you please share a link where I can check it?!

    Sure, this is what happens…

If I make the thumbnail very small (75 x 75) the problem seems to disappear, unless you chose a screensize that apparantly cuts off the borders to the text, even if it is just a word of two syllables…

Same thing happens when I make the size very large.

Ah, and syllables should be letters…

The issues comes from the theme style. You have to add some custom styles to solve this. Please understand that this is out of scope of my support.

Maybe you will give a try to our free plugin Ultimate Post List. This plugin provides some more settings regarding the Post Thumbnail Options.
    Hope that helps.
