    Hi,

    With all my product descriptions i have added these to the “Product short description” as it places better on the storefront. Please advise if I shouldn’t do this and for what reason.

    Whilst using Yoast, I am getting “The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.” and “The text contains 0 words. This is far below the recommended minimum of 300 words. Add more content that is relevant for the topic.” on every product.

    Please could someone advise and if this has anything to do with where I am placing my product descriptions.

    Unfortunately, Yoast SEO doesn’t detect content from the product short description at this moment. However, a feature request is currently open for this. You can find the feature request here.

    Ok that’s great thank you. Whilst it shows as an error with Yoast, do I have any concerns with this with my SEO? I.e. Besides me putting in a feature request should I change anything to better my SEO?

    The text in the short description will still be able to be read by search engines when the page is crawled. So whereas the short description can’t currently be analyzed by Yoast SEO, it won’t adverse affect your page’s SEO because search engines are still capable of reading it. As for the feature request, you would not need to submit a new one as there is one already currently open for this to be added.
