    Hi, Tobias.

I often use this great plugin, thank you.
and sorry for bothering you sometimes.

I make datas in local circumstance.
and I try to export the datas of tablepress to the server.
the Japanese words become the text bug something like “u4ebau6587u79d1u5b66u7cfbu7d71” etc…
if you have a solution, advice me please.

    Regards.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

From what I can see, there is something broken with the UTF-8 Unicode represenation of characters. In the JSON format, single characters from foreign languages are written as

    \u....

(where .... is a unique identifier string).
Apparently, something on your site is removing the \ from the beginning, likely by incorrectly applying the PHP function stripslashes().

Can you therefore please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switchting to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Sixteen? That way, we can find what’s causing this.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi, Tobias.

    Thanks for your advice.
and I try what you said.

at first, I have to tell you that I imported by using wordpress import tool.I didn’t notice there is a way to export in tablepress(> <).

    anyway, under the below surroundings.
1.Deactivate other plugin but “wordpress importer” and “tablepress”.
    2. switch the theme to Twenty sixteen.

case A: Using WordPress export and import tool

    I have the same trouble.
    Title and description are OK.
but texts in the cell are all buged.

case B: Using tablepress export and import.

Texts in the cell are all OK.
but Title and description become bug.

I wish this information may help you to resolve issue.

    Regards.

    Hi,

thanks for the explanation! This might indeed play a role here then. I’ll have to check the Import code again.
Yes, in general, it’s the best to use the TablePress export and import.

    Regards,
    Tobias
