Text before the link

It is possible to include some default text before the “Read More” link. To include the link it is getting very close to the text of my post, giving an impression of a cut done poorly.
It is possible to include some text to excerpt size and then “Read More” link.
For example: Lorem ipsum bla bla […] Link
[…] serve to separate elegantly link of the text.
