  • love the “caption cluster” they have on the homepage

    What’s it for? None of the phrases in that cluster are clickable, so of what use is it to the average user?

    Thanks for the reply. HWdesign just uses the text as a design element. The only difference between their caption cluster and a static image (one image with all of the content) is that in a static image, the content wouldn’t be searchable or have any rollover effects. On my own site, I’d like the option to make some of the captions into links (they might go to a site glossary), but it’s not essential functionality. Do you know how I can achieve this?

    Personally, I can’t see the point of a rollover effect for plain text and Google is unlikely to increase PR on the page because of a few lines of apparently unrelated text. But, in theory, this might be possible if you populated the cluster using tags or category names using get_tags() or get_categories().
