text attributes of simple product not duplicated in translations

This plugin has 2 kind of attributes: select and text. The select attributes are working fine in the translations. The values appear nicely.

In case of a text attribute I expect the values choosen by the webmaster for the default language to be duplicated in the products of the other languages. The translated values well indeed, but the text attributes remain empty for the non-default languages.

This seems to be a severe shortcoming.
