    Hi,

First off, thanks for making available this free plug-in! While the learning curve can be a little high and it appears more designed for experienced developers, we are slowly working towards creating our first form.

For a Text Area, even if the form user separates the text with returns, it does not appear that way in the E-mail Plus e-mail to me. How might I do that? Otherwise, it can be quite messy and difficult to understand.

    Thanks,
    Tyler

Thank you so much for the question, always happy to help!

So this functionality has just been added, very much appreciate the heads up!

Here’s a quick video of what the fix is and how it works, and how we can update our own copy of Express to get the new feature:

Any other questions of comments, love to hear ’em!

Thanks, Matt, for the customized video response! Quite flattering to receive such support ??

Unfortunately, although I followed all your instructions and the box is now checked, it first didn’t fix the problem (still no carrier returns in form e-mail) and now it doesn’t even send me e-mails anymore. I unchecked the box and still no e-mails.

I’d rather get it back to the way it was before than not have it work at all now. Help, please!

    Thanks.

Just replied to the other question, though as a quick follow-up point here: I’ve not been able to reproduce this specific status, perhaps it’s the email system being a bit over zealous with spam filtering?

I only say this as I just enabled filtering on my server, and now any email sent from my local computer is marked as spam. Point is it still makes it to my inbox, though sometimes it’s marked as spam in the subject, other times not.

It’s definitely variable, perhaps the same is happening on your end?

I’ve just re-installed (but keeping my existing job). I’m still not getting e-mails (and “Message body empty” is still showing on confirmation page).

All the e-mails were going through (over the past week) before I installed your earlier update with your change (adding “encode carriage return”), so all signs show that it’s related to that. I checked my junk e-mail folder, and it’s not in there.

    Any other thoughts?

I’ve already spent hours and hours with this plug-in, and I’d like to stick with it rather than starting over and learning another one!

    Thanks.

In order to revert to the original version, I’ve tried copying the original version of Rackforms over this new version, but I couldn’t seem to do it right. Now, I cannot see my form/job I created. Fortunately, I have a copy of my original version of Rackforms, which includes a folder with the title of the name of my form (under the folder Forms). I copied this folder into the Forms folder of the new installation, but it still doesn’t recognize it within Rackforms.

In addition to fixing the problem detailed in my previous post, how do I get Rackforms to recognize my form/job again (I have original version of Rackforms that I had copied from my ftp)?

    Thanks.

Ok, so now I’ve gotten my old job back (mostly), but still using your new version (with carriage return option).

I had used email+ for confirmation page successfully before your new version, but that no longer works. The Simple Email does work, however (the reason I was using e-mail+) the e-mail it sends me is very messy because it takes all the html we added for the element labels and shows this actual code.

Therefore, I’d like to either get e-mail+ working again (so it sends me e-mails), or fix the e-mail format of Simple E-mail so that it actually shows the labels formatted with html rather than the html code.

    Please advise!

Alright, such is the nature of adding new features to a new piece of software, bugs happen : )

So the good news is this is now fixed, once again thank you for letting me know about it!

You were indeed correct, the problem started after the line break code had been added. Alas it’s fixed now, please feel free to update again and let me know if it works on your end!

I guess I should have realized I would be a “beta tester” given the new nature of this plug-in. My expectations were off… ??

I re-installed, but email+ is still not working (since you added the line break code). I tried unchecking the line break option, but that still didn’t fix it.

Nevermind, the e-mails are working again! There was a just a delay this time…

That’s Fantastic news, and thank you for the update!

In this case I’ll admit it was a quick feature addition, hence the issue. This is often the case with rapid development, though hopefully the end-result is worth it!

Moving forward I expect such feature additions will be more rigorously tested before release : )
