Text area border + text field transparency

Hi!

1) I’ve created a contact form where the text fields and text area fields are decorated with a border. I’ve styled the form with the Styles & Layouts for Gravity Forms plugin. Now the border is showing for the regular text fields, however the border for the text area field is only showing in the Customizer of WordPress, not when actually visiting the page. Any idea how to fix this?

2) Is there a way to make the background color of a text field a bit more transparent instead of opaque white in my case?
